Imagine spending a school year or a summer, living in another country, immersing yourself in a new culture, and seeing the world through a completely fresh lens.  Rotary Youth Exchange isn't just a trip abroad—it’s your chance to grow into a global leader, gain independence, and discover who you truly are.  Join over 8,000 students worldwide every year who step beyond their comfort zones to represent their home country, build international bridges, and create connections that last a lifetime.

Choose Your Adventure

1. Long-Term Exchange (LTE)

Duration: 10–12 months

The Experience: Live with host families, attend local high school, immerse yourself in a new language, and fully integrate into a foreign culture.

How/When to Apply - apply in the Fall (October) to go abroad the following school year

2. Short-Term Exchange Program (STEP)

Duration: 6–8 weeks (over the summer)

The Experience: A direct family-to-family swap. Host an international student in your home for 3–4 weeks, then head to their home country to stay with them for another 3–4 weeks.

Calling all students ages 15 to 18 1⁄2 years old who live in Central or Southern Oregon, the Oregon Coast, or the very top of Northern California, your journey to becoming a global peace ambassador through international exchange, starts here. 

In Rotary District 5110, everyone belongs! No matter who you are, where you come from, or how you identify, your unique background and perspective are celebrated here. This program is a chance for you to share your voice, explore the world, and help us build an inclusive exchange community where everyone is welcome.
