Donations

District 5110 Rotary Youth Exchange is a a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which means donations are tax deductible. What would your donation support?

  1. Outbound (OB) exchange fees. For an Outbound Oregon student the exchange fee is $8,500 which is a lot. This amount does not include trips and other end-of-the-year activities in their host country that can often make an exchange experience complete. Donations to District 5110 Rotary Youth Exchange would be used to defray the expenses of OB students who need financial assistance.
  2. Inbound (IB) trips and activities - like above, there are frequently trips and activities that cost more than just the standard exchange fee - this can be ski weekend in Bend, trip to LA/Disneyland in the Spring or the year-end trip on the coast (the final time that the students will spend time with one another). Donations to District 5110 Rotary Youth Exchange would be used as match funds to defray the expenses of IB students who need financial assistance (they would be required to fundraise on their own prior to asking for aid).
  3. RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Academy) - this is a special 5-day camp right after school gets out. It is a great way for exchange students to learn leadership and team building skills (it is offered to Oubounds who are about to go abroad in August and to Inbounds as away to finalize many of the skills they have learned during their time here in the US. Donations to District 5110 Rotary Youth Exchange would be used to provide RYLA scholarships valued at $600 to ensure that the student pays nothing.
